Rain droplets became sheets of ice, breaking off Natake’s body one by one. In the distance, he could see a familiar figure on the ground, not moving at all. Tonoko was putting down her bright decorations upon her house, ranging from Christmas lights, to translucent ornaments galore. She smiled quietly to herself thinking of the last day of the year. ‘Tonoko…I wanna tell you something important this year. And I hope…you’ll agree with me when I say it. B-because it’s really…well…something personal,’ Natake had announced while he and Tonoko stared in awe at the fireworks, signaling a new year. Aizou Shuzoku Volume 4 Chap. 2Outside the shadowy walls of an Osaka residence, snow lightly jumped out of the nighttime clouds, sending puffs of frozen, soft water to the Earth’s sleeping surface. Kotoru’s dark eyes opened as a slither to the dim lighting in his room, while lying upon his long couch within his living room. He turned his head slightly to the right to see a blurry figure only a few feet away from him.
